LGV Assessor

This course provides candidates with the necessary skills to assess and report on the quality of any goods vehicle driver. Please note: Whilst an LGV Assessor course prepares candidates to carry out assessments, it does not prepare them to carry out remedial training. If this is required by your business the LGV Instructor course would be the most appropriate course for you as this covers assessing and teaching. This course also prepares candidates for the independent National Register of LGV Assessors(NRI) examination.

By the end of the course candidates will:

• Be able to recall and discuss the duties and responsibilities of an LGV Assessor
• Be able to conduct driver assessments
• Be able to produce factual, informative reports

The LGV Assessor course concludes with an objective examination carried out by an NRI examiner. All elements of the examination must be passed in order to successfully qualify as an LGV Assessor.

The course covers the following:

• Driver licensing and eyesight checks
• Assessment procedure
• Assessment route selection and directions to drivers
• Driver marking sheets
• Report writing
• Accident, vehicle defect and periodical driving assessments

At the end of the course an examiner from the National Register of LGV Assessors will conduct a three-part examination. Find out more about the NRI exam.
